Overview
In the private sector, profit and the bottom line are often the driving force behind many business decisions. Therefore, a sound understanding of Finance and the role that it plays in industry is vitally important. This course covers the basic areas of finance as related to industry and shows how to analyse financial situations as well as use the information gained to enhance business performance.
This particular syllabus summarises the objectives, content and methodology of this basic Finance and Business Improvement course. It includes a timetable which co-ordinates the topics and links them to the practical issues of improving the financial and business performance of projects and businesses.
Objectives
By the end of the course, delegates will be able to:
- Understand the basic financial concepts and improve their own contribution to the project and business performance.
- Perform analytical techniques of finance, estimating and cost control using human and calculator or computer-based techniques.
- Develop basic financial statements and complete ratio analysis.
- Understand the language and concepts of finance and how money is used to create, measure and control projects and businesses.
Duration
The course is two days and begins at 9:00 AM. Please note that delegates should expect to continue working on the course during the evenings, and earlier starts may be required on subsequent mornings.
