What is the Introductory Certificate?
The Association for Project Management (APM) Introductory Certificate in Project Management offers a fundamental awareness of project management terminology and is for those wishing to gain a broad understanding of the principles of the profession.
The APM Introductory Certificate in Project Management e-learning course is a complete, stand-alone, self-paced course of study for successfully gaining the ICPM qualification from the APM. The ICPM is the first qualification in the APM's programme of qualifications and is an essential starting point for project members wishing to pursue a career in project management, and can lead to further qualifications.
Who is it for?
No prior knowledge or experience is required for this qualification which will provide the individual with the knowledge to make a positive contribution to any project.
How long will it take?
How long the course work takes to complete is entirely up to the individual but the certificate can be completed in 12 -16 hours. However, you may prefer to do a module a day or set yourself a target to complete four modules in a week.
Candidates now have the option of sitting the APM Introductory Certificate examination online once they have studied the online material, at a convenient time and place. All you require is a high speed internet connection, webcam and microphone.
Why should I study online?
E-learning allows candidates to learn anytime, anywhere. Taking an online e-learning course, as opposed to a "traditional" classroom based course has significant advantages. Among these are:
Lower costs – saves on all incidental costs associated with training courses such as travel and hotel expenses
Faster delivery – no social interaction time, no time wasted winding up or down a training session
More effective learning – delegates learn at their own pace, not at the pace of the slowest learner in the group. They can also skip any elements of a program that aren’t applicable to them if they wish and can study in the comfort of their own home, office or wherever there is an internet connection. The learning is self-paced, so you can speed up or slow down as necessary
Lower environmental impact - Online learning saves trees by saving paper. Our online courses are entirely self contained, presenting all learning content online, or providing alternatives to paper based forms of communication through such tools as email, PDF manuals and other web based tools.
